So as it turns out we had very special results from the Great backyard bird count we participated in last week :) we have unusually high numbers of red breasted nuthatch here on our porch feeders !! They were so excited about it we got a special email! Exciting first for Glory !

Foster kitty is doing great !

Its been 7 days now and Jackie is off all meds and doing great ! The only issue she is still having is some coughing with exercise so we are wondering if she may have asthma. (she is getting chubby)

Goodbye January Hello February

Glory's activities the past couple weeks...

Brittany got adopted so we have a new foster Kitten. This one is sick, so we have had plenty of opportunity to learn from our vet Dr. Carrol who loves to explain things. We spent 45 minutes in his office the last visit learning all about tear ducts and things like the difference between the word Tacky and the word Tachy. Glory has been a huge help giving her medication, the nebulizer, and also playing with her in a way where she can rest after short bursts because activity makes her cough. Jackie either has Herpes or Calicivirus and has needed a lot of medical care, but her improvements have been quick and obvious and very rewarding and educational.

Glory helped me turn this old bookcase into a bird watching station for Jackie

because sometimes homeschooling equals making cupcakes late at night ... she did the entire thing herself including all the reading measuring and mixing and pouring ... and they were delicious !

much more fun than getting a nebulizer treatment
