Homeschooling in action

I post all our stuff on facebook these days but i'd like to do better keeping track of stuff here as well ..... i'd like to share an awesome experience we had a couple days ago.  When you have a picture of something in your head, it doesn't always add up the way you had hoped ... and then there are times when its even better than you could have ever dreamed.   This has been our experience of homeschooling so far better than we could have ever dreamed!   To illustrate with a recent example ... when on a trip out to pick up a sandbox and some cinder blocks for our garden from friends glory requested to visit the library ... so we happily agreed.  Turned out the library was an hour from opening however so we decided to take a ride up the end of the road to the bay ... while there we saw the spot where her favorite park as a toddler used to be ... Glory asked ... 'where did it go?'  ... that started a conversation about where it went and what happened to it ... when we walked into the library glory walked right behind the counter to the first librarian she saw and said 'i need a book. i need a book about hurricanes. do you know what a hurricane is? its a really really really big big big big wind !!! its SOOOO strong it can destroy things!' lol she had the entire library cracking up laughing so adorable ... then she was taught how to use the computer card catalog and find her book on the shelf ... when she carried it to the desk to check it out she said 'i FOUND IT !! i found a book about hurricanes !!! i can learn about hurricanes now !!!' .... me and john looked at eachother and almost at the same time said 'homeschooling ... i love it!'
